The story of Gloucester Academy is an inspirational one. It is a story that you may already be part of or one that you are looking to join. Either way, welcome. 

Gloucester Academy was formed in September 2010 from the joining of two schools;  Bishop's College, and Central Technology College. The Academy started in the Technology College where children and staff watched the new fifteen million pound building that you sit in today take shape. In 2014, Gloucester Academy, as it is now, was completed and the children moved in.  

In June 2020, the school underwent a major transformation. It was at this time that Greenshaw Learning Trust were entrusted to support the young people of Gloucester. Since that point the school has changed considerably, shaped by the students and staff to make it one of the most improved schools in the country. The community, staff, and students all played crucial roles in this transformation, showcasing the resilience and commitment that are now hallmarks of Gloucester Academy. 

Today, our school is recognised for its commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals and our tenacity to ensuring that we succeed together. Our state-of-the-art facilities, dedicated staff, and supportive community create an environment where you can thrive. We are proud of the strong values that guide our Academy. These values of Ambition Excellence and Pride are reflected in everything we do, from our teaching practices to our interactions with the community.

Our committed Headteacher, Mrs Lewis, is dedicated to seeing Gloucester Academy become the best school in the country for our students, staff and the community, because we all deserve the very best. She likens the journey through school as a climb up a mountain, as climbing a mountain can be hard if you are not fully prepared. At Gloucester Academy we ensure that you are supported to climb the mountain at all times, that you are fully prepared to jump over  hazardous crevasses and traverse arduous boulders that may be in your way. At Gloucester Academy we climb together, and we leave no one behind. Our school has climbed its own mountain and today we are still climbing.

Gloucester Academy has gone from strength to strength, year on year.  Our students achieve exceptional results, with every year's results being better than the last.
